About this map
Police-recorded injury collisions (Department for Transport, STATS19) involving pedestrians in Greater London, linked to small areas, OpenStreetMap streets and features, deprivation and population.
Most dangerous street stretches use a kernel density along the street network (250 m), so clusters stay on the street where they happened. Hot and cold spots use Getis-Ord Gi* with 999 permutations. More than expected compares each area with a negative binomial model, corrected for multiple testing. Drive times assume free-flowing traffic.
Minor pedestrian injuries are under-reported to the police, and associations between areas and casualties do not show cause.
